The company was founded by Fred Mitchell in 1919. He worked with his two sons Horace and Watson who helped drive their Steam lorry as shown in the picture below. The company originally delivered road haulage and steam roller services up until 1945 where they decided to diversify into motor car repairs. Then in 1960 they moved to their current premises on South Parade, Ossett. The company finally went limited in 1968.
The business then expanded into Plant hire and was successful for many years in providing plant equipment and plant services to the construction industry as well as private individuals. The companies main line of work is now construction and maintenance services.
The former directors were Horace Mitchell's sons - Frank, Micheal, Jack and Robert.
The Current directors are Jack, Robert, Wendy and Graham.
